As it looks like everyone so far is an existing player, how long did you want to wait for new players? (Mainly lets me know how long I have to come up with the role playing aspects - seem to have created my character completely backwards this time).

Probably just two or three more days unless a newbie shows up and needs more time.

Still coming up with a back story, but character is done from a mechanical point of view.

I have my character done on Dndbeyond, I just need to transcribe it to the tangledweb sheet.

I have been transcribing it too...just a bit tedious and I've been busy. Also need to do my shopping for items but if others are ready to start I can accelerate and finish if I buckle down.

Question, to start with a familiar do I need to pay the component cost out of my starting gold?

Great. I've added your statuses to the bottom of the original post.

I edited to ask about having a familiar to start and whether I need to set aside gold for the component cost or not, what would be the answer to that?

Also just an fyi for others I decided to splurge and spend the entirety of my starting gold outside of what I got from background and class on a bag of holding as it is just convenient and saves me doing a bunch of shopping....

Here is my character who I will probably add minor backstory to given this is a one shot: Aelinoria

I apologize for missing your question, southeast. Yes, you'd need to spend the 10 gold to start with a familiar.

How is the transcription coming along, Luopo?

Unless other players are willing to maybe fund my food and lodgings (if any) at the beginning I think I will hold off on having a familiar as I would be left with nothing....unless I am allowed to sell off starting gear I don't need...like torches.

Gear I would sell would be: backpack and ink (subclass allows her to magically write without ink). Let me know if I can sell it, and I am fine if it is at half value.

You can absolutely sell starting gear.

Is it at full value or half price?

Merchants sell at full and buy at half.
