If you have access to Netflix and you haven't seen Death to 2020 yet, give that a watch.

Watched half with my wife last night! The other half is on tap tonight. So good!

Cobra Kai season three is good stuff! It's a straight up shot of Okinawa-y goodness. Rewatch Karate Kid II then fire this new season up. You won't be disappointed.

So, like all bonafide geeks, I've been watching WandaVision dutifully since it started a month ago. The first three episodes are as promised: weird, bizarre simulacrums of an entire decade of tv history rolled into one twenty minute ball. Entertaining, but a sharp turn from anything we've come to know from Marvel over the last decade or so.

The fourth episode answers a lot of questions, but none of the answers are wildly surprising if you like Marvel, have read the comics throughout the years and have been paying attention to casting and whatnot. It does, however, begin to feel like an actual Marvel property by the end of it, though.

But the fifth episode - specifically, the final thirty seconds or so of the fifth episode - is something else entirely. Holy smokes. Consider my mind officially and wonderfully blown!

I will not start WandaVision until all episodes are available. I must be able to binge. Until then I am currently enjoying Schitt's Creek.

I get that instinct, Drew. I do get it.

But I promise you, in this case: you are wrong, sir. Consider the first five episodes the binge and then be happy when more shows up. I assure you, the end of episode five will feel like a season finale twist and if you wait a few weeks to watch it, someone's going to fuck it up for you. So drop what you're doing and set aside two and a half hours today and watch this sucker before some internet meme screws it all up for ya.

I trust your judgement. I'll watch what's currently available.

You're a good dude, Drew. I hope my advice feels worth it. I'm pretty sure it will. Enjoy bud!

Wow, that's so weird. Separate threads are now entwined. This show is amazing.

And now for something completely different:

Age of Samurai: Battle for Japan is a documentary(ish-y thing) on Netflix, following in a docu-drama vein that began with the Romans and continued with the Russians. Well, now it's Japan's turn and I'll be totally honest: it's pretty awesome. You'll learn stuff plus see a ton of violence and blood...what's not to like?!

So WandaVision was an absolute masterpiece. It was such a slow burn with so much detail and build up in a way that the films just don't have the time to do. This one gave itself room to run and I loved it.

I couldn't agree more. It instantly vaulted itself into the top 5 Marvel stories for me. So damned good!

So speaking of Marvel, how do folks feel about Falcon and Winter Soldier so far?

Not making the same mistake again. This time I'm waiting for the whole thing to be available before I start it.
