    Dimensional Escape

    Dimensional Escape

    Conjuration
    Level: Wiz/Sorc 6
    Components: V
    Casting Time: 1 standard action
    Range: 50 foot
Target or Area: You and up to one person per level
    Duration: 1 hour per level
    Saving Throw: None
    Spell Resistance: No

Weston whispered a word in an ancient tongue long forgotten by man. As he did a shimmering potral opened. He invited his friends to step in. One by one they disappeared, and so did the portal as he stepped through…

The caster is able to open portal to a small extradimensional space. This space is 50 foot square. The caster may chose to close the portal when inside or to leave it open. No creatures may enter the portal uninvited. If the caster choses to close the portal he can still see into the area where he cast the spell through a small magical window. The window is invisible to all creatures outside the Dimensional Escape. Spells may be used within, but cannot be cast into or out of the Dimensional Escape.

Within this space the caster may place and store anything he desires. Items left in the space when the spell expires will be there whenever the spell is recast. Only nonliving items can be left within the extradimensional space. Living items or creatures are shunted back to the place they entered the Dimensional Escape when the spell expires. Taking another extramdimensional space into the escape is extremely hazardous.

This spell is commonly used by wizards as a retreat where they can study and work.

Note: There is a base 2% chance that an item left in the Dimensional Escape disappears when the spell is cast again.

This seams Rather underpowered for a 6th level spell when the 2nd lvl spell Rope Trick is already very similar.

The difference between this and rope trick is that this is similar to an extradimensional apartment. You can pretty much set an alchemy lab, study, or library in here and conjure it wherever you go. Whatever you leave in here, stays in here (most of the time), whereas Rope trick only lets you take into it what you physically carry into it. Think of it as a very large magical walk in closet that can be summoned anywhere...
